Access for Students with special needs

The College following the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) accepts individuals who have long-term physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairments.

The college is committed to offering high quality inclusive education, and attaches great importance to treating all students with respect and care.

The Students Welfare & Activities Office and the Academic Office are responsible for helping students with disabilities to adjust to student life.

Inclusive Education

The college’s inclusive education system:

• ensures that students with disabilities are not discriminated against and are accommodated to participate in education on the same basis as all other students.
• acknowledges and responds to the diverse needs and strengths of all students.
• ensures that students with disabilities and additional needs are treated with respect and care.
• fosters a spirit of acceptance of people with disabilities beyond the college community.
• works on finding new policies to improve the social inclusion of people with disabilities. 

Facilities 

The college follows the guidelines of the Department of Public Works and more specifically the ΑμεΑ (Persons with Disabilities) guidelines. 

In order to meet the above guidelines, the college provides:

• regulation size disabled parking spaces.
• the necessary guide signs for entering and exiting the building.
• regulation size disabled access ramps.
• regulation size disabled toilet facilities.
• emergency exit guidance.
• Elevator
• Assigned Escorts (4 members of the staff) 

Care and support 

Student support is available to all students at no extra cost and is provided by a licensed clinical psychologist. The aim of this service is to make sure that all students feel they receive the necessary support from the college both at an academic and personal level.
