Aim of the Programme

The purpose of the Diploma in Marketing & Public Relations Programme of study is to introduce students to the field of Marketing & Public Relations. Through the Programme students acquire theoretical and practical knowledge as they learn how to implement Marketing & Public Relation skills and techniques in the workplace.

Students also acquire knowledge in general subjects such as Statistics, Accounting, Sociology and Psychology in order to receive a well-rounded education.

Students who obtain the Diploma in Marketing & Public Relations have the required skills and knowledge to work in a variety of areas such as Marketing, Public Relations, Sales, Product promotion and Advertising or to continue studying at a higher academic level.  More specifically the Programme provides and develops: 

  • an in-depth understanding of marketing and its components with emphasis on  public relations.
  • the ability to apply marketing techniques and tasks, as well as to cope with challenges that help to develop key transferable skills essential to a career in marketing and public relations.
  • the skills and underpinning knowledge necessary to evaluate dynamic marketing, and public relation situations which require cross-functional business solutions

Intended learning outcomes:

On completion of this Programme Students should be able to:

  • Discuss about the business environment in which marketing and public relations managers operate.
  • Explain influential factors on customer behaviour and the interaction between organizations and customers.
  • Demonstrate how marketing and public relations communication process is applied to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Construct marketing and public relation plans and strategies within international context.
  • Discuss the importance of service design and quality in delivering brand value.
  • Identify the role of market research in marketing and public relations.
  • Describe key concepts and skills that underpin the practice of marketing and public relations.
