Aim of the Programme
The Hotel Management course aims to prepare students for successful careers in hotel management operations. It focuses on developing critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills while refining the managerial abilities essential for hospitality professionals.
Students gain a comprehensive understanding of the social, economic, and environmental contexts in which the hotel industry operates. They also explore the structure and operational characteristics of various hotel departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Customer Service, Leisure & Recreation, Event Management, and Marketing and Sales Promotions.
To bridge theory and practice, the course offers work placement opportunities, enabling students to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies. These placements are organized by the College and approved by the Ministry of Education Sports, and Youth, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience.
Intended learning outcomes:
- Communication Skills for Hospitality
Adapt effective communication techniques in both written and oral formats.
Develop communication strategies to improve interaction within hospitality settings.
- Hotel Operations Management
Recommend operational procedures to improve the management of hotel departments.
Analyse hotel operations to evaluate their efficiency in delivering high-quality guest service.
- Cultural and Industry Awareness in Hospitality
Discuss cultural and global perspectives relevant to business management in hospitality and tourism.
Critically evaluate the significance of cross-cultural communication within a diverse hospitality setting.
Discuss the importance of staff members within an organizational setting.
- Strategic Management and Business Decision-Making
Implement strategic management techniques to optimize hotel performance, business planning, and decision-making processes.
Critique business strategies, evaluate their effectiveness, and develop sustainable business models for the hospitality industry.
- Leadership and Hospitality Management
Critically evaluate the leadership and management principles to improve organizational effectiveness and the delivery of exceptional guest service.
Analyze management practices, organizational behavior, and hospitality systems to enhance operational efficiency and staff performance.
